Yuji is presently engaged in a fierce confrontation against Sukuna, wielding his newfound abilities in Jujutsu Kaisen – but what enables him to employ Blood Manipulation?
For an extended period, Jujutsu Kaisen kept Yuji’s powers shrouded in mystery until his final showdown with Sukuna unfolded. His intense determination to defeat the antagonist and rescue his friend following the tragic loss of his cherished sensei has proven to be a thrilling narrative.
The period between Gojo’s reappearance and the ultimate clash among the strongest marked significant skill enhancements for everyone involved. A collective effort was made to train rigorously in anticipation of Gojo’s potential defeat. However, among the participants, Yuji Itadori stands out as the one who underwent the most remarkable improvement.
Yuji has not only mastered the intricate Reverse Cursed Technique but has also acquired the ability of Blood Manipulation. Additionally, he possesses a peculiar skill allowing him to assail someone’s soul through his punches. Explore further to uncover the mechanics behind Yuji’s utilization of Blood Manipulation in Jujutsu Kaisen.
Yuji Was Born With The Innate Blood Manipulation Like His Brother
While Choso and Yuji are technically considered brothers, their connection lacks any blood relation. Yuji, being human, and Choso, a reincarnated Cursed Womb: Death Painting, share no familial ties. Several centuries ago, Kenjaku took possession of Noritoshi Kamo’s body and utilized Choso’s mother to give birth to him and his nine siblings.
Centuries later, Kenjaku, now occupying Kaori Itadori’s body, gave birth to Yuji as part of an elaborate plan. Consequently, this unconventional birth process establishes the brotherhood between Choso and Yuji. However, despite being brothers, Yuji does not possess the innate technique of the Kamo Clan.
In Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 220, Yuji’s ability to use Blood Manipulation is revealed as he expresses his willingness to consume anything to defeat Sukuna. During the conversation with Choso, who provides Yuki’s notes on soul research, Yuji briefly mentions their other siblings. Choso’s gratitude for their siblings living within him hints at the implication that Yuji will consume the remaining Death Paintings. As these paintings carry Noritoshi Kamo’s blood, each inherits the Blood Manipulation technique, which is now passed on to Yuji.
Chapter 247 subtly suggests that Yuji might use Choso’s Piercing Blood, but the uncertainty remains whether it is Yuji or Choso initiating the attack. Given Choso’s severe injuries in that scene, it is likely that Yuji launches the assault on Sukuna.
As the ongoing fight unfolds in Chapter 251, Yuji surprises the King of Curses with a formidable technique. He spits a mouthful of blood onto Sukuna’s face and subsequently detonates it, appearing to be an extension of Blood Manipulation. The series is expected to provide further insights into all of Yuji’s abilities as the confrontation continues.
