Solo Leveling Episode 1 introduces a malevolent entity referred to as the ‘God.’ For those curious about the identity of this supernatural being, let’s explore further.
The Solo Leveling manhwa has emerged as a significant and appreciated contribution to the industry. With the anime adaptation now available, fans are captivated by the swift and gripping events depicted in the initial two episodes.
Sung Jin-Woo, the primary protagonist, initially appears as an unlikely lead character, seemingly the weakest in the story’s outset. However, Jin-Woo’s fate takes a drastic turn when a mysterious entity selects him as a vessel. This choice not only resurrects him but also bestows upon him formidable powers.
While the series promises the unveiling of more enigmatic entities in the future, the current focus lies on the God, a pivotal figure in the initial episodes that has stirred intrigue among viewers.
How Does The ‘God’ Entity Come Into The Picture?
In Solo Leveling Episode 1, the hunters embark on a seemingly non-threatening mission to explore a D-Rank dungeon. However, their perception quickly shifts within minutes of entering the dungeon, as the surroundings prove to be more perilous than anticipated. Among the various statues within the dungeon, some clutch musical instruments, while others hold weapons.
Joohee, the B-Rank healer, becomes aware of an ominous presence in the area. When she alerts Jin-Woo, the main protagonist, he initially dismisses her concerns. Yet, the E-Rank hunter senses a chilling shift in the air within the Dungeon. As the group explores further, they encounter rules engraved on the walls in Solo Leveling, revealed to be the Commandments of the “God.”
The situation takes a dire turn when the door abruptly closes, and a hunter attempting to exit is fatally attacked by a statue. The hunters realize they are in for a near-death experience within the dungeon, with many falling victim to the statues. Jin-Woo deciphers the commandments of the god, guiding his fellow hunters to survive. Those who defy his advice meet their demise, and ultimately, Jin-Woo decides to sacrifice himself to ensure the survival of the remaining hunters, especially Joohee.
As the episode concludes, the screen displays “Courage of the Weak,” confirming that the ‘System’ has been granted to Jin-Woo by the God. This revelation establishes the significance of the ‘God’ entity in Jin-Woo’s journey, prompting the question: Who exactly is this ‘God’?
Who is the Absolute Being and Ashborn?
The Absolute Being is the essential force that gave rise to Monarchs from darkness and Rulers from light when only these two elements existed. Monarchs were created with the purpose of annihilating the entire human race, while Rulers were designed to save humanity. Despite being a deity, the Absolute Being was notably self-centered, orchestrating events solely for personal amusement.
When the Rulers sought immense power to eliminate the Monarchs, the Absolute Being remained unresponsive. The Rulers realized that the Absolute Being had no interest in ending the war, finding joy in the ongoing chaos. Recognizing that the situation would only deteriorate until they found a way to defeat the Absolute Being, all the Rulers, except Ashborn, decided to kill the ‘God’ and bring an end to the bloodshed.
Although Ashborn, the strongest among them, attempted to oppose his own kind, he was powerless. The Rulers successfully killed the Absolute Being. When Ashborn later resurrected as the Shadow Monarch, he discovered the God’s corpse on the throne, albeit in a deteriorated state.
In essence, Jin-Woo could be considered the chosen warrior of the Absolute Being, who ultimately becomes Ashborn’s vessel to continue the fight on behalf of the God. While Jin-Woo remains unaware of these intricacies, it is anticipated that he will eventually be enlightened about the entire situation by Ashborn himself.
