Following a challenging launch and subsequent rounds of patches, the heist-focused shooter Payday 3 is gearing up for a substantial major free update later this month, incorporating two familiar levels from its predecessor, Payday 2.
Developer Starbreeze Entertainment made the announcement via an official post on its website, detailing that the upcoming update will “reimagine” two classic heists: Cook Off, tasking players with batch-cooking methamphetamine, and the stealth-oriented Turbid Station.
Slated for release in November 2023, the update is not limited to level additions. Starbreeze Entertainment outlined a comprehensive set of features, including a new skill line, fresh first-person interaction animations, the introduction of Infamy Points impacting heist payouts, two new tracks by Gustavo Coutinho, and over 200 additional bug fixes and improvements.
While an exact release date within November remains undisclosed, this announcement aligns with Starbreeze Entertainment’s ongoing commitment to refining Payday 3. The game faced early criticism for issues such as bugs, server troubles, and slow progression. Notably, PlayStation users reported difficulties accessing special pre-order bonuses upon the game’s launch.
As the Payday 3 major free update draws near, anticipation builds among game enthusiasts, hopeful that these changes will elevate the gaming experience and also address previous challenges encountered by players.
