Asobo Studio, known for developing both A Plague Tale games, has disclosed its engagement in a significant new project in collaboration with publisher Focus Entertainment.
Focus, in a communication to investors, affirmed the continuation of their enduring collaboration with Asobo through this major venture, building upon their successful partnership evident in the ‘A Plague Tale’ franchise.
While some may speculate about the prospect of a new intellectual property (IP), the likelihood is tied to job postings from July. These listings were exclusively for positions within Asobo Studio’s “Plague Team,” the dedicated team for the Plague Tale games. Consequently, the “major new project” that Focus Entertainment is partnering with them on is probably an extension of the series.
The nature of this extension, whether it takes the form of a spin-off or a complete sequel (as hinted at the conclusion of A Plague Tale: Requiem, the latest installment in the series), remains uncertain.
In the same business update, Focus Entertainment confirmed its intention to unveil the updated release date for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 in early December. The game’s release had been postponed to the second half of 2024 to allow sufficient time for meticulous polishing and to ensure the delivery of the best possible gaming experience.
