This item has the unique ability to double the experience points gained by a Pokémon. While the idea of friendship perks has been a feature in Pokémon games since Generation 6, having an item specifically dedicated to enhancing experience is consistently beneficial. The Lucky Egg stands out as a unique item that can be held by a Pokémon, making it a desirable asset for trainers as soon as they gain access to its location.
