It appears that every brand is now reproducing vintage games in order to introduce them to new gamers. Nintendo is keen on this, particularly with its Switch console. They’ve rebuilt games like Link’s Awakening, Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee, and even Wii U exclusives like Mario Kart 8 and Pikmin 3. But it was the remake of Super Mario RPG, a long-forgotten game, that took my breath away. I used to like it when I was a kid, so I was both excited and anxious about how it would be now, almost 27 years later. The fact that not much has changed is a positive thing!

You can play as Mario, Bowser, Peach, Geno, and Mallow. Geno and Mallow are two new characters created by Square.
A comical aspect from the original game is retained in the remake: a boss named Culex, who was a 2D character, emerges as a joke.
